Stalking redfish on the tidal flats of Beaufort’s estuaries hooked Allan on becoming a fishing guide in South Carolina's Low Country. |
Since his first outing fifty years ago, he has never stopped fishing, despite a few distractions, like his degree in oceanography and a career in investment management. Spin casting for pike and bass in Canadian waters were the highlight of his childhood and adolescent summers. His captivation with fly fishing was initiated with the purchase of a fly rod outfit at a discount store, which quickly led to many close encounters with bushes, tree limbs, and an occasional bluegill or smallmouth. Winter steelhead fishing made Caribbean bonefishing getaways a true delight. While summers send him to Canada and to the Rockies to visit a few finny friends, the rest of the year you’ll find him serving as fishing charter captain for Beaufort On The Fly or fly fishing on Beaufort County waters.
